Mélanie Joly | Minister of Tourism, Official Languages and La Francophonie of Canada

Melanie Joly was 34 when she ran for mayor in Montreal's municipal elections (she came in close second at the polls) and was 36 when she was elected to the House of Commons and named Minister of Heritage Canada by Justin Trudeau. She is a born leader and visionary who is not afraid of tackling difficult issues.

In this second episode of The Brand is Female she speaks to host Eva Hartling about what drove her to pursue a career in politics, how she relies on her intuition as a guiding force today, her leadership style and her boss’ leadership style (that would be Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau!) and how being a young woman in politics—or in a boardroom—comes with its own set of challenges.
